Our People

All Support Stream staff are qualified and competent to provide you with an excellent service to meet your needs.  We have a very comprehensive training package for all staff that includes cultural safety, suicide prevention, CPR and first aid, stigma and discrimination, abuse and neglect, health and safety and medication support. Support Stream is compliant with the Ministry of Health’s Health and Disability Service Standards and The Home and Community Support Sector Standards and is independently audited to ensure continuous quality improvement.


Manager / Registered Health Professional

Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Education, Bachelor of Health Science in Occupational Therapy, Post Grad Dip in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Trained facilitator of the Charles Rapp Strengths Model and ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training. Shelley is a registered occupational therapist with 21 years experience working in community mental health.  Her many roles over this time include working as a community occupational therapist, manager of mental health services, training facilitator and coordinator and developing services. Shelley is passionate about working with people using the Strengths Approach and supporting others to overcome challenges to live the life they want.  She believes in the resilience in all people, that they can acquire the knowledge and learn the skills to improve their overall wellbeing.


Counsellor / Wellness Coach

Provisional Member of NZAC (NZ Association of Counselling) . Bachelor of Health Science in Counselling . Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapy Kirstin has over twelve years experience in the mental health field, including the planning and facilitation of wellness groups, she has also worked as a support worker in our residential and youth respite services. For the past two years Kirstin has been working with individuals as a Wellness Coach. Kirstin’s approach is client-centred and strengths-based, and she includes mindfulness and practical strategies for increased self-awareness and improved thought patterns. Kirstin works with people from a supportive, non-judgmental stance and believes in people’s strengths and abilities to move from hard times towards a better, brighter future.


Counsellor / Wellness Coach

Provisional Member of NZAC.  Bachelor of Social Practice, Post-Graduate Diploma in Counselling. Jojo is passionate about supporting people in the remembering and strengthening of their values and strengths and locating these within social contexts.  Jojo’s approach is informed by Narrative Therapy practices opening space for the creative use of the written word and art as a means of exploring wellness and growth.
